Opportunity for All Writers | Submit to Vanguard Literary Services’ HIV/AIDS Awareness Anthology

To mark the 2017 World HIV/AIDS Day on December 1, Vanguard Literary Services, a bookselling company in Nigeria, has called for entries for an anthology of “contemporary short stories and poems that explore HIV/AIDS and sex education,” to be published on that day. It would be made available for free downloads.
This anthology is open to writers worldwide and will be edited by the Nigerian writer Nonso Anyanwu, who runs the firm. In an email  Anyanwu stated that “the aim of this project is to increase awareness on HIV/AIDS and to help orientate those young boys and girls who are lost in the complications of their sexual organs.”
This is not the first time Anyanwu would be curating a project like this. In February of this year, we published Love Stories from Africa, a collection of brief stories by writers across Africa, with an introduction by Helon Habila. In February 2016, we published Gossamer: Valentine Stories, 2016, another anthology of love stories, by Nigerians. Both were edited by him.
    Here are things to note.
    • Word limit: 2,500
    • Formatting: 12 point, Times New Roman, single line spacing, with author’s name written below the title.
    • Submit as a Word attachment in word format to vanguardliteraryservices@yahoo.com
    • Deadline: 25 October, 2017
    • Successful entrants will be notified by 30th October, 2017.

NOTE: We have no stake in this project or in its promotion. All questions should be directed to the email included in the announcement.
