MUSIC IS DYING - A Must Read

    MUSIC IS DYING

Father was a young man then.
When music was more than just for entertainment.
It had a soul to it.
    A message in it.
Music had a purpose to it.

Father was a young man then.
When Fela used music to create a republic inside a republic,
And Fela was Africa's ambassador even though he had no office nor pulpit.

Father was a young man then.
When all tribes were entranced by Onyeka Nwenu's
    "Iyogogo Iyogogo Iyogogo,
Kanyi ga na nke bishop iyo five na akorla.
Nwambu na aka na ebe akwa,
    Iyogogo Iyogogo Iyogogo".

Father was a young man then.
When music was more than just boobs and ass,
    Or cars and haters.
    When musicians were leaders,
    The people's own speakers.

Father is an old man now.
    Good music is dying.
All we have now is ambient noise in which musicians are lying.
    And father is crying.
Father cries for good music but it's not as easy to find now as it was then because

    Father was a young man
